My Yoga Story

I was introduced to yoga at a very early age. I attended my first class with my mom in our hometown of Caracas, Venezuela when I was fifteen. Soon an instructor began coming to our home to teach my family. We would practice yoga in the garden enjoying the night air—it was lovely!  While I enjoyed the practice, I didn’t fully understand its depth. What amazed me most was my dad’s improvement. A man in his forties who had never been particularly active was creating more and more space every day; reaching deeper, getting stronger and subduing his chronic back pain.

When we moved to Canada a lot of things changed and I weaved in and out of the practice, until a few injuries in my mid twenties inspired me to take better care of my body. I started practicing yoga more consistently and was amazed by its healing power. I was also dealing with the average stressors of adulthood and I started to appreciate the power of my breath and my mind’s ability to push the noise aside. I finally understood yoga as a whole, and I wanted to bring wellness to the forefront of my everyday life, while spreading the benefits of this beautiful practice onto others.
